Excellent course! Byron breaks down the history and development of the modern day TEP prothesis and makes it easy to understand the evolution of the procedures and devices. Sections on therapeutic intervention and troubleshooting were very helpful. Highly recommend this course if your clinic manages TEPs.

This training video, TEP Voice Restoration, is a must have for any speech-language pathologist, ENT, MD, clinical faculty/instructors who work with future SLPs, and clinicians who will be able to use the video as a training tool for TEP patients. The content of the 8-hour course is divided into three sections. The historical perspective has information about the development of the TEP with Dr. Blom sharing information from the beginnings of the invention. The procedures and techniques’ section has quality videos of patients sharing valuable information. A step-by-step guide on how to insert, take out, and make sure patients obtain the best TEP care. The problems and complications section has information that every clinician needs to understand how to provide the best care.
There is nothing on the market that compares to this training, and it is a must for every library. Each section offers valuable information! My favorite sections included patient perspectives and important information to consider. In addition to the 8-hour training, Byron offers individual consultations with him regarding difficult cases that he has had much experience with.

This is definitely the most comprehensive training on TE voice restoration currently available. There has been nothing left unsaid. After a 43-year career in Speech Pathology, with the last 35 years managing total laryngectomees, I still learned several things from this training.

The history was fascinating, just fascinating. Like I was in a time capsule walking through voice restoration history.
Janita Patterson, MA, CCC-SLP
This was an exceptionally well organized, step by step instruction on the history and management of the total laryngectomee. This would be a great addition to college courses for those interested in working with this population. I attended Dr. Blom’s hands on voice restoration course in the late 1990’s. Byron’s course in TEP voice restoration was as if you are hands on working with the patients directly and you can refer back to the videos if you need a refresher. This would be a great SLP college course for graduates interested in this population. Great patient representation in these videos! Really enjoyed the historical aspect of voice restoration!
Amy Chandler, MS, CCC-SLP
Overall, this course was incredibly informative and it was extremely well planned and presented. All of the topics covered were thoroughly explained and demonstrated during the course and the information was easy to follow along with. I felt more confident treating total laryngectomees after taking this course! Byron was quick to respond to my questions and was willing to help me when I needed it. I would recommend this course to anyone looking to further their education in the area of total laryngectomy!
